Winemaker, champagne in Monthelon since 3 generations
It’s in 1947, in Monthelon in the Coteaux sud d’Épernay area that Julien Chopin created his champagne brand. His desire to create champagnes that correspond to his taste and personnality. He started with only one hectar of vines. He become winemaker in Monthelon. Over the years, the vineyard expanded and all the Chopin’s family take part in the business. Particulary Henri, the son of Julien. He naturraly express interest in continuing the family business when he took over in 1969. At the head of Champagne Julien Chopin, Henri wanted to develop the champagne range and client visits.
Now, it’s Emmanuel, Henri’s son who manage the family business since 2006. He really wants to continue the tradition while adding his personal touch. The Champagne Julien Chopin’s activity is now divided in 3 parts : champagne range development, development and promotion of ratafia champenois and œnotourism.

We let express our imagination to create champagnes between tradition and innovation. Our point is to rewrite traditional codes in keeping the family spririt of the house.
Our Julien Chopin’s champagnes has low dosage. This choice is connected to the taste of Emmanuel Chopin who like low-dosage champagnes to let express the aromas of the wines.
The ratafias champenois
Produced to highlight particularly the fruit aromas, the ratafias champenois Julien Chopin are expressive, colorful and aromatics.
The range particularity ? Our ratafia champenois are created by grape varieties : Meunier, Chardonnay, Pinot noir, Pinot blanc… Some are created with the solera method (champagne version of solera method).
Ratafias champenois Julien Chopin have an appeal to mixology and gastronomy. They are the delicacy in a cocktail, a surprising food pairing during a meal !
